Movies, TV, books and more are so often marketed with eye-catching logos, but we don’t often think about where those logos came from.
Michael Gross, an artist and designer, has died at the age of 70. Gross did many creative things but the logo of his that is most recognizable is the “No Ghosts” logo for the 1984 classic “Ghostbusters.”
Gross was a designer for the late, lamented National Lampoon magazine. He created the 1973 cover with the fictional threat to kill a dog if people didn’t buy the magazine.
Gross was also a consultant to John Lennon and the Muppets.
